Who We Are

For more than 50 years, Legal Aid of Nebraska has provided dignity, hope, self-sufficiency and justice through quality civil legal services. That is the important job of Legal Aid of Nebraska

What We Do

We are a non-profit statewide law firm and we provide free civil legal services to low income Nebraskans. We have 7 offices located across the state in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Norfolk, Bancroft, North Platte and Scottsbluff. We have four priority areas: Children and Families—Pubic Benefits—Debt and Consumer and Housing. A few examples of the case types we handle are; Divorce, custody, public benefit appeals such as, if someone is denied SNAP benefits, Medicaid, Unemployment, Social Security, bankruptcies, garnishment cases and evictions or other issues with landlords. Legal Aid of Nebraska provides both electronic tools as well as in-person clinics for certain types of legal issues where Nebraskans may be empowered to help themselves solve their own legal issues with limited assistance or no assistance from our attorneys.
