Stuhr Museum is looking for volunteers with sewing experience to aid the Interpretive Resources Department in making historically appropriate garments (such as petticoats and skirts) to be worn at the museum. Must be willing to learn and use period sewing techniques. Patterns, fabric, modern sewing machines and a climate-controlled space to sew are provided. You will need to be able to stand while cutting garments. If you enjoy sewing, this is a way to have a lasting, positive impact on the museum, its staff, and the visitors. Please email jsims@stuhrmuseum.org if you are interested!
