Who We Are

We are a new charitable organization in the Grand Island area that will provide 24-hour reduced fee child care to low income families.  At this time we have been working to gain community recognition and support. We are involved in community awareness activities, finding grant opportunities, and working to create partnerships with local employers.

What We Do

Mission:  Family First Academy will provide high quality, reduced fee, 24-hour childcare to low-income families, provide parent education that will promote understanding of child development, financial literacy, problem-solving skills and much more, and provide opportunities for our participants to supplement income through earned vouchers. Once implemented, our program will support families on their path to family wellness and financial success.

Vision: Family First Academy will be a leader in early childhood care and family development. We are a Grand Island-based non-profit that will provide educational programming and childcare, with the intent of providing comprehensive support to those in need.  We believe that this is possible with our intentional focus on the areas of live, learn, and earn.

• Live - We will provide safe, reliable, and affordable childcare to families that qualify. This living component assures that children are receiving quality responsive care and attention while the parent(s) are at work.

• Learn - We will facilitate educational programming that aims to strengthen the family dynamic. This includes, but is not limited to, nutritional guidance, parenting group sessions, financial literacy courses, and more.

• Earn - We will provide incentives to families that engage and embrace this comprehensive process. Not only are parents afforded the opportunity to work while child care is provided, but financial incentives are given based on attending our empirically-based education programs. We believe that the Family First Academy will create a foundation for growth and a pathway to full family wellness. With our continued growth, we hope to serve Grand Island-area families for generations to come.
