Our Mission
The Mission of the Grand Island Children’s Museum is to engage families to explore creativity and community through experience-based learning and play.
What We Do
About Us
The Grand Island Children’s Museum is an exciting new venture that aims to bring learning to life for children of all ages in Central Nebraska. This newly formed nonprofit organization will provide STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math)-based kids activities that creates an excitement for learning.
Currently, local residents have to leave the community to receive the services we will provide. We seek to bring this “big city” experience to Central Nebraska to make STEAM learning more accessible to our youth as well as make our community a destination for others including those traveling in for other events.
The Grand Island Children’s Museum will develop the Grand Island Armory Building on Old Potash Highway next to Ryder Park due to its centralized location and ease of accessibility by the community. Utilizing an existing building allows us to use minimal funds to update the façade and infrastructure, freeing up much of our budget for operating costs including exhibits, events, and after-school activities.
