Crossroads Mission Avenue

Crossroads has been helping the homeless and needy for over 40 years now, beginning in Hastings and expanding into Kearney, Grand Island and Lexington over the years. Each location provides services that include safe shelter, hot meals, life skills classes, and one-on-one case management that helps our guests gain employment, financial independence, and stable housing.

Crossroads Mission Avenue carries out our mission to bring glory to God through the helping of people, by bringing help and hope to the homeless and needy in Central Nebraska. Our goals include providing food, shelter, clothing, and physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and vocational support to the homeless, as well as providing indigent services for those who are needy. We offer a 4-Phase Recovery Program, transitional housing, and one-on-one case management, which will equip program participants for successful living after their time at Crossroads and lead to homelessness prevention. Demand for food services in our communities continues to increase so Crossroads offers food boxes 24/7 on our campuses, as well as mobile food pantries in Lexington and Broken Bow. Crossroads currently operates six Mission Avenue Thrift Stores in Hastings, Kearney, Grand Island, Lexington, Holdrege, and Broken Bow. The stores provide vital support for the ministry of Crossroads as well as providing low-cost clothing and household items within each community.
